Serious About Self Care

Is your hectic schedule messing with your self care rituals? Perhaps the very notion of ‘self-care’ makes you roll your eyes? Whether we have an abundance of time or very little, we often put off taking care of ourselves in favour of tending to others.

You may read that and think ‘well of course, that’s my role’, but prioritising yourself is essential. As the saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup!

Taking the time to look after ourselves is fundamental to our wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around us. For some, self care is massages, yoga and meditation, for others it might be running or reading or taking a drive to the beach. It really doesn’t matter what self care means to you, all that matters is that you practise it.

In times of stress, it’s often easy to let our happy little rituals slide whilst we rush around trying to take care of everybody but ourselves. This can easily lead to a build up of resentment, negativity and lethargy which is hard to shake off. Here’s Claire to remind us how important it is to give ourselves some love during testing times…

Use this weekend to have a really good think about your current routine. Are you allowing enough time to focus on the things you really love? Could you show yourself a little more kindness? Prioritise you and see how the simple act of doing so can be a breath of fresh air and give you a new lease of life, even when stress is rife.

Remember, you deserve to be happy and self care is never selfish, it’s vital.

Have a beautiful weekend…
