Let’s sum it all up…

I was reading about the recipients of The Queen’s Anniversary Prizes 2012 in the Times last Friday and one of them is the Institute for the Environment at Brunel University for their work showing the widespread occurrence of feminised male fish in the UK waters. They believe that it’s not only the effect of the small concentration of oestrogen found in the waters from the oral birth control pills but also the combination with other chemicals from everyday life which are also found in the water.

Their future research wants to look at whether the trace levels of oestrogen in our water can explain the recent decline in human male sperm count in the western world.

Perhaps they should read my blogs about BPA in plastics and watch the Canadian documentary – The Disappearing Male – to learn how the plastics industry is negatively affecting our men? Then there’s soy which contains a form of oestrogen which is also a phyto-endrocine disrupter affecting fertility and testosterone levels (see my other blogs about modern soya processing) which is found in just about all pre-processed supermarket foods…

When looking at these factors which when all combined are an oestrogen based cocktail, it’s hardly surprising that our males are having a difficult time right now…
