We Are Women, We are strong…

“Rock bottom became the solid foundations on which I rebuilt my life.”
– J K Rowling.

This week saw us celebrating International Women’s Day… Always a powerful day, a day of empowerment, solidarity and worldwide displays and acknowledgement of awesome female strength. We celebrate each other, cheering for one another’s victories and showing compassion and oneness in the face of ongoing adversity.

In the spirit of this most special of days, we are encouraging you to bask in your own strength and resilience. Be a champion of yourself and marvel at your power and ability to overcome. It’s all to easy to focus on our self doubt and get stuck in a habitual loop of beating ourselves up or feeling powerless. Well that stops right here!

Do not listen to the negative chatter in your head telling you that you aren’t good enough or strong enough or that you can’t cope. You have overcome so many battles and you will continue to rise above. Believe in yourself and your resilience and keep fighting the good fight.

Take time to reflect, often, on how far you have come and give yourself credit for getting so far. You are a tough cookie and that deserves some acknowledgement.

Three cheers for being a woman!!!

    Sugar sucks!

My personal experience has now been ‘confirmed’ by science – carbohydrates are addictive (Sunday Times, 5 Sep 10 – Fat fix…).  I have seen it with my own eyes, though I’m not convinced that ‘addictive’ is the correct term.  Perhaps ‘strong cravings’ is really a better description! My experience comes from Mike.  We have been…
