About Lesson

Often we take our worries to bed. We can worry over what we need to get done, the things we haven’t got done, the things we wished we had or hadn’t said, the things we fear, the things we stress over, the things which make us anxious, concerns over finances, health, family, work… the weight of the world and all the troubles within it!

All of this can certainly feel overwhelming which in turn makes for a hard time getting to sleep and if we wake up in the middle of the night can make it difficult to go back to sleep.

One suggestion is to write all those worries out onto a piece of paper and rip it up. The reasoning behind this is we are symbolically removing the worrisome thoughts from our mind, which if done with intention can allow a sense of ease within the mind. Ripping it up symbolically implies “I am letting this go and not taking it to bed with me”.

Please note, if your client feels resistance to ripping up their worry list as they think they it holds important information or has things they need to do on it, remind them to write out a list of what needs to be done for the next day then there are no worries to be had about ripping up this worry list.

There is also a really lovely practice of giving your worries to a worry doll(s) and they take your worry from you to give you a sense of peace. There is also a worry doll app which your client could download and use.
