Using a long exhale to get out of fight or flight (sympathetic nervous system) into rest and digest (parasympathetic nervous system). We are using the breath to regulate our nervous system. We often use an exhale which is twice as long as the inhale, for example inhale for the count of 4 and exhale for the count of 8.
Practise this long exhalation breathing with your client in a session so they can use it when and where they need it.
