About Lesson

It may seem super obvious but getting ready for bed is a step in our bedtime routine.

Don’t devalue this as a step as people who are exhausted, overwhelmed, stressed may not bother to get ready for bed. People can also feel it’s a boring chore as they want to jump into a cosy bed and go to sleep. However, personal hygiene is valuable and making time to get ready for bed could help people to switch their brains into switching off from the day.

It can also help to do some of the activities listed below earlier in the evening when motivation is higher.

Examples of Getting Ready:

  • Clean teeth
  • Take out contact lenses (if you wear them)
  • Wash face
  • Moisturise face (and body)
  • Brush hair
  • Get into PJs or nightie (if they wear them)

What else do you think could go on a list to get ready for bed?

  • Stress + Anxieties
  • Sleep Debt
  • FOMO
